Fahrzeugbeschreibung
The father of all BMW Tourings – The BMW 02 Touring
Beautiful Touring in beautiful color combination: 041 Atlantik Blue over Parchment interior with Matching Numbers.
BMW’s first TouringThis BMW 1802 Touring was built at BMW’s plant in Bavaria in 1973 and was presumably built for the French market. Delivered in this color – 041 Atlantik Blue over a Grey part vinyl part cloth interior. We have acquired this vehicle earlier this year – a very original, correct and beautiful 1802 Touring. Technically we’ve gone through the car completely. The body is very original and doesn’t show any signs of previous welding. That’s why we gave it our love. It was first registered in March of 1976 and was recently part of a Belgian BMW collection.
We’re always interested in high quality 02’s and they are rare. High quality 02 Tourings are even scarcer. The car is a very original, not heavily restored, surviving 1802 Touring in a beautiful condition. The original, matching numbers engine runs excellent. A nice and straight body with original bodypanels – doors, fenders, front-fascia. The undercarriage is very clean, very healthy, not welded and showing original floors & sills in their factory coatings – beautiful!
The Atlantik Blue Paint is appearing in great condition. Together with chrome and trim in good condition the car really stands out. Nice straight bumpers, new blinkers, clear headlights, fresh emblems make for a great Touring. It sits on the correct Touring specific FPS wheels with good Uniroyal tires.
The interior is very original too and in great condition. The seats show their factory vinyl and cloth, yet the foam has been replaced and they sit excellent. A nice and crack-free dashboard, original grey doorpanels, clean headliner and even original carpets in excellent condition. This car was really looked after and used with care. It shows the original 4-spoke steering wheel, a new gearknob and shifter boot as well as a new set of high quality floormats. A great place to be.
The engine bay is looking beautiful. The original engine – matching numbers – is running excellent. It runs very smooth. Starting up nicely, going through the revs eagerly, not leaking and smoking. The engine bay is showing original paint, non restored. The factory 4-speed shifts very precise and easy. The suspension is tight and the steering is precise, really a joy to drive. As mentioned below we have really put in a lot of work on the technical side of this Touring.
We’ve completely gone through the car in our workshop. 77,5 working hours in the workshop, an internal invoice at a total of €16.700 is present.
All fluids, gone through the carb, the ignition and making sure it drives and brakes excellent. What we’ve done in short:
