Fahrzeugbeschreibung
Aston Martin DB7 Volante, 1 of 800 produced DB7 Volantes ever.
Jet Black, Tan interior. Burr walnut, Alcantara headliner. How British do you want it? The DB 7 is a modern classic from your dreams. The somewhat clumsy control panels and recognizable parts (including from Jaguar) do not detract from this. What a design, what a car.
And only about 7,000 of these were produced. Seven thousand! The convertible, Volante in Aston Martin language, only has a production number of around 800 copies. Can you remember seeing one in the wild? Not me.
Have a look at the photos, have you ever seen such a beautifully lined car? And then the interior… The color and the smell of the soft leather. Everything is in top condition. The beautiful Tan leather seats with charcoal piping, the Alcantara headliner, the wooden instrument panel containing the gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature and of course the fuel gauge.
We found this Aston relatively close; in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The first Dutch owner had bought the DB7 a little further away; Aston Martin Washington DC, USA. The purchase receipt is even still present. Once in the Netherlands, Noble House, the Netherlands’ only Aston Martin Heritage Specialist, was given the task of bringing the Volante into top condition. The result? A DB7 in perfect condition. Really all points of interest were addressed; no less than €40,000 was invested by the first Dutch owner. You’re either an enthusiast or you’re not, right?
Of course we took a good look at the current state of the Aston. I can really only say one thing about that; I’m pretty sure this is the neatest DB7 I’ll ever get my hands on. To begin with, no rust has been observed. Nothing. So no flash rust, just nothing. Then consider that this classic is already 24 years old.
After extensive testing and checking, we found only a faulty handbrake, we have nothing more to say about the condition of this Aston. Top quality was delivered at the time, that’s clear. To name some main points; the entire air conditioning system was renovated. The enthusiast knows that, together with the heating system, this can sometimes be a stumbling block with a DB7. The blowers of the stove were also tackled. paintwork? top condition, recently extensively detailed and polished. Tires? Bridgestone Potenza, as it should be, with ample tread depth, just one year old at the back. Headlights almost new, and therefore in top condition. Convertible top in top condition. It is therefore not surprising that the valuation report mentions a nice ‘2+’ score.
And what a pleasure it is when you drive the DB 7. A lovely hum, largely coming from the large Eaton Supercharger. That sounds great, absolutely incomparable with another blowing technique, the turbo. Then consider that this 3.2 six-in-line not only sounds great, but is also relatively easy to maintain. Basically we are talking about a Jaguar block which is known as indestructible; the AJ16 3.2. Our permanent specialists know how to handle this like no other. Add to that the relatively favorable fuel consumption and you have a dream classic.
Well, you are already a few paragraphs further and you are clearly a big car enthusiast. You know the joy you can experience from a nice car, no matter how materialistic that may seem to some. You enjoy design and technology. You keep an eye on the market, so you are also aware of the absurd price increases in car land. 911, Corvette, E-Type, V8 Vantage. Miura. I could go on and on. Assuming you’re in a good position that purchase price isn’t an obstacle for you. Perhaps you are also an entrepreneur and well aware of the tax benefits of a youngtimer.
Now the question; Can you give me one good reason not to buy a DB 7? Let me know. And if you can’t think of one yourself, give me a call and come over for coffee.
The complete and original service folder is present with the Aston. All invoices are attached as well as a photo report of the renovation. The key set consists of an original key and a remote control.
There is still much to be said about this special classic and youngtimer, but you only get a good picture when you look at the car and drive it. you are most welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
